The Carmenere grape comes from the ancient \u201cVitis Biturica\u201d of Albanian origin, brought to France by the Romans.
\nIts name may derive from \u201ccarmine,\u201d due to the intense purple color of the resulting wine. In recent years, it has been rediscovered, and its historical roots in this DOC are such that it can be considered native. It produces wines with medium acidity and soft tannins.<\/p>\n
We will use a medium-to-large sized glass, a balloon or wide-bowled glass, to allow the aromas to spread.<\/p>\n
The recommended tasting temperature is 18\u201320\u00b0C, depending on the type of wine.<\/p>\n
Carmenere is a very versatile wine with all traditional pairings, ideal for roasts of both white and red meat, game, and aged cheeses.
\nFurthermore, it is a full-bodied, warm, tannic wine with explosive fruit: clearly carnivorous, it loves grilled meat, asado, chorip\u00e1n, and of course all smoked BBQ preparations, thanks to its harmony with the slightly smoky tones.<\/p>\n
