Just a few steps from the wonderful city of Venice lie the \u201cMarocchesa\u201d lands, a farm managed by Michele with the support of his brothers Simone and Alessio Scaramuzza.

By Napoleonic edict (decree no. 62 of April 13, 1807), the cadastre of the Kingdom of Italy was established, initiating the land surveying operations which, for the Triveneto portion of the territory, would only be completed in 1817.
\nJust a few steps from the wonderful city of Venice lie the \u201cMarocchesa\u201d lands, a farm managed by Michele with the support of his brothers Simone and Alessio Scaramuzza.
\nThe SCARAMUZZA family has very ancient roots and could recount every small change and detail of this land, but the most important thing is that it was here that Napoleon Bonaparte, through the Napoleonic Cadastre, registered these vine-cultivated lands.<\/p>\n

Grandfather Rocco Scaramuzza was a spokesperson for the agricultural tradition started by his parents and predecessors, and he passed on to Alessandro his passion for cultivation, innovative spirit, and lively enterprising nature.
\nAlessandro is the father of the brothers Michele, Simone, and Alessio; he supports them every day in the \u201cMarocchesa\u201d project: giving a face and identity to all the work, study, and investments made in the vineyard.
\nMichele is very meticulous and attentive in caring for the vineyard. This is an environment where the pruning rules of Simonit & Sirch are practiced, a methodology that allows the vine to give its best without stress and to enjoy a long life: all under Michele\u2019s supervision.
\nSimone and Alessio also take care of other crops such as cereals for flour production, animal fodder, wheat, etc. During the harvest, however, they focus in the vineyard alongside Michele.
\nThe SCARAMUZZA brothers work in synergy to select the best grapes from the sustainable vineyard, offering the public premium, unconventional wines that stand out for their character and uniqueness.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

THE ROOTS OF TRADITION<\/h3>\n

Grandfather Rocco already followed in the footsteps of his predecessors and passed down to his son and grandchildren this vocation: cultivating the land with passion and great dedication.
\nAlessandro followed in his father\u2019s footsteps, and today his sons Michele, Simone, and Alessio are fully devoted to the family business.<\/p>\n

In the countryside respect for the land<\/strong> is the key word.<\/p>\n

Here Michele<\/strong>, Simone<\/strong> and Alessio<\/strong> rediscover the natural method of protecting crops: buffer strips.
\nBuffer strips consist of single- or multi-row tree and\/or shrub plantings, each row also featuring a permanently grassed herbaceous strip as a protective buffer.
\nThese linear formations must be positioned between the area intended for agricultural use and the farm\u2019s hydraulic network and\/or inter-farm watercourses (streams, ditches, or drainage channels).

In our century, the respect for and maintenance of buffer strips had almost been lost.
\n\u201cMarocchesa\u201d has never abandoned this method, and the result is a balanced, healthy, and protected environment.
\nTherefore, buffer hedges promote the improvement of biodiversity in rural areas by enhancing ecological connections and increasing the availability of breeding sites and refuge areas for wildlife.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

Michele attended the Simonit & Sirch Pruning School, earning his diploma.
\nPruning is a very important stage in the life of the vine: year after year, it shapes the vine\u2019s growth and strength.
\nHere Michele has chosen, through pruning, to follow the vine\u2019s natural tendency to develop branching: this is the system that ensures a healthy and long life for the plant.<\/p>\n

Marocchesa has chosen to use sustainable energy; solar energy is converted into electricity without the use of fuel.
\nThe 250 kW photovoltaic system converts all sunlight into energy without producing any \u201cprocessing waste.\u201d
\nThis significantly reduces carbon dioxide production, an important step toward a world that is increasingly eco-friendly and more informed and engaged with environmental issues.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n
